Danone Egypt is a subsidiary of Danone company, with headquarters in Cairo operating since 2006. Leading in the dairy industry, Danone Egypt employs more than 1,500 employees, driven by the company’s mission of “Bringing Health through food to as many people as possible”.

Danone Egypt has a world-class plant in Obour which has been whitelisted since 2018 and a world-class farm in Nubariya, ranking the third-largest farm in Egypt. The company plays a vital role in placing sustainability at the heart of its operations and its various projects spanning over than 10 years, such as "Al-Omda" micro-distributor project which focuses on health accessibility through food in rural communities; the "Alban Baladna" Milk Collection Centres project which aim to establish milk collection centres in Upper Egypt, while the "Kheir Ardena" project seeks to localise soybean production for DanFarm’s livestock. In addition, Danone Egypt and the Egyptian Food Bank’s (EFB) “Zero Food Waste” program aims to eradicate hunger and food waste through nutrition, by providing  EFB’s beneficiaries across Egypt with Danone’s dairy products all year long. Obour Factory

In 2006, Danone Egypt acquired Obour plant, which currently has 9 production lines and a milk reception area. It is the first plant in Danone Africa to achieve above 900/1000 for 5 consecutive years in the PRP Audit (Hygiene Prerequisite Program) done by the American Institute of Bakery (AIB) and has been re-certified for FSSC 22000 in January 2019 to January 2022 (the highest level of food safety standard worldwide). In addition, Obour plant follows the certified HACPP system to control any food safety risks on our finished product for the safety of our consumers

The plant also follows the Dupont international safety standards to provide our employees with the best safety environment and to encourage responsible behavior among our colleagues.

Danone Egypt also owns a farm in Nubariya, the third largest farm in Egypt, with an area of 154 feddans equipped with the technologies in cattle milking.

  Danone Farm follows the Total Mixed Ration for feeding cows, which combines all forages, grains, protein feeds, minerals and vitamins formulated to a specified nutrient concentration into a single feed mix
